Last August, Hurricane Harvey caused widespread flooding around Houston, with over 60 inches of precipitation falling in Nederland, Texas. It was the most significant tropical cyclone rainfall event in U.S. history since 1950. Now this August, Hurricane Lane brought over 50 inches of rainfall to Mountain View, Hawaii, through early Sunday morning. This tropical event is now the third largest storm total in U.S. history. Thankfully, the Atlantic tropical season has been quiet of late and for us, this week, it’s going to be all about the heat and humidity.
