Temperatures to drop into single digits Friday night

A cold front moved through the region overnight reinforcing the chilly air mass that has been in place, holding high temperatures on Friday in the 30s to near 40 degrees. An arctic front over the eastern Great Lakes midday will weaken to a trough of low pressure before moving through the state overnight. Temperatures overnight will drop into the single digits and teens in the interior and near 20 degrees along the shoreline. Despite lots of sunshine on Saturday, highs temperatures will only be in the 20s and lower 30s. Little change in temperature will occur through Tuesday.
