UConn hosts URI in NCAA men’s soccer opener
The UConn men’s soccer team earned an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament Monday. The Huskies (11-5-2) will face Rhode Island in the opening round Thursday at 7 p.m. With Morrone Stadium under construction, UConn will play the home game at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. Thursday’s winner will travel to Indiana to face the Hoosiers in the second round. The Huskies lost to Indiana in September, 1-0. This will be UConn’s 36th NCAA tournament appearance and first since 2015.
