It wasn’t long ago that Brendan Rodgers produced a pair of walkoff hits in the same day, causing Yard Goats manager Warren Schaeffer to refer to the 21-year-old as a superstar.
Fortunately for Rodgers, and unfortunately for Schaeffer and the Yard Goats, the superstar is moving on. It was announced Sunday that Rodgers was called up to the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Triple A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, and now just one step from the majors.
In 95 games with Hartford this season, Rodgers slashed .275/.342/.493, hit 17 home runs and stole 12 bases. Including the 2017 season, he played 133 games in a Hartford uniform.
