Contractor On Middletown 'Trees Of Honor' Files Complaint

A contractor who worked on the Connecticut Trees of Honor Memorial has filed for an injunction alleging safety violations and unpermitted work on the memorial.

The civil clerk at Superior Court in Middletown said a judge denied a request from Douglas Fleming for an immediate injunction, but scheduled a hearing on his complaint for Sept. 26.

Fleming, of Windham, installed the memorial's 1,200 feet of brick walkway and two stone plazas. In his court filing he alleges work is being done that is not up to OSHA standards, that there are dangerous and unsecured conditions accessible to the public at the memorial, that the work is being done without proper permits from the city,...
