In a story Dec. 11 about a large housing development approved in the mountains north of Los Angeles, The Associated Press reported erroneously that several environmental groups supported the deal. Audubon California, Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council and others signed an agreement not to challenge the Tejon Ranch development in exchange for wilderness preservation but did not actively back the plan.
