A New Haven Church Will Honor Colin Kaepernick and Nike in Service Sunday

A New Haven church will dedicate its service this Sunday to Nike and Colin Kaepernick, the former NFL player who knelt during the national anthem to highlight racial injustice.

Parishioners at Varick Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church are encouraged to wear Nike gear to the service. Nike recently announced that Kaepernick would be the face of its “Just Do It” 30th anniversary ad campaign. Since the announcement, Nike stock reached an all-time high.
