Matteson resident Melinda Bussie, who goes by the stage name SandyRedd, impressed all four mentors with her performance of Bishop Briggs' “River” on Tuesday’s episode of “The Voice.”
“That was insane,” coach Kelly Clarkson said. “You are like fire.”
Bussie, whose two kids and two brothers joined her on stage, chose to join Clarkson’s team even as coach Jennifer Hudson pointed out they both have Chicago roots. Blake Shelton and Adam Levine also fought over her during her audition.
Bussie, 36, coaches volleyball at Southland College Prep Charter High School in Richton Park. She attended Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills.
