It’s a car show, an airplane show and a food-truck festival. The 32nd annual Simsbury Fly-In on Sunday, Sept. 23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Simsbury Airport will feature 750 vintage and new airplanes and cars, a Life Star helicopter, vendors and more than 20 food trucks.
Vendors will sell crafts, T-shirts and toys. Music will be performed by the Jolly Beggars Irish band. The day also features kids’ activities, seminars, flying demos, parachute demos, radio control model aerobatics. Rides in a helicopter and a AT-6 World War II training plane will be available. Food trucks include the Bakery Boys, Cherry on Top, Classic Cuisine, Comfort Zone, Hawaiian Shaved Ice, Hot Apple Buns, Imperial Shows, La Mesa, Low n Slot, Makens Sliders, Pierogis on Wheels, Pile Hugh Reubens to Cubans, Szabo’s Seafood, The Whey Station, Ty’s Ice Cream, Ultimate Sundae, Cousins Maine Lobster and Sultan Kabob.
Admission is free, but donations are accepted. The event is presented by the Simsbury Flying Club and proceeds benefit the operation of the airport. Leashed pets are welcome. A $10 parking fee benefits the Boy Scouts. Handicapped parking and restrooms are available. Rain date Sept. 30. simsburyflyin.com.
