FAU sends Keith Bryant home from official visit

Update: Bryant tweeted about his visit after the original publishing of this story.

Keith Bryant wasn't interested in FAU, so FAU wasn't interested in Keith Bryant.

FAU coaches sent home the four-star Atlantic defensive end Saturday, cutting short the visit of the highest-rated prospect to ever visit the Owls, according to multiple sources close to the situation at FAU and Bryant.

Bryant is one of the most sought-after recruits in the country and one of the nation's best uncommitted prospects. He made waves when he announced that he would visit FAU in this, the final weekend before Wednesday's National Signing Day.

Bryant said that he was serious, but his joking nature made it difficult to interpret his true intention of visiting the 3-9 Owls. Bryant has said that he'll sign with Miami, Florida State or South Carolina on Wednesday. He had included FAU with those three schools in recent interviews.

Carl Pelini visited Bryant at his high school this week, and the meeting left with both parties feeling good about the nature of the visit. That mood changed on Saturday, as FAU coaches decided that Bryant was, in fact, disingenuous in visiting, and the Owls sent him home.

Bryant did not respond to a text message sent by the Sun Sentinel, but Bryant did take to Twitter after midnight:
