Car Shopping on a budget

Running On Empty

By Nate Owen

Ok so the headline might be a misnomer. Even if you're not looking for a top of the line, James Bond-esque performance vehicle, chances are you'll shell out quite a bit for your new car purchase.

But offers five cars for under 15,000 dollars, certainly a bargain compared to what most vehicles cost today.

Keep in mind, the base price can easily climb with the addition of features found in the more pricey versions.

Obviously there's a host of other things to consider when buying, including gas mileage, resale value, and safety features, among others.

Personally, I'd rather shell out the few extra thousand and get something that doesn't look like a backup prop car from the Fast and the Furious (Honda Fit) or a kitchen appliance (Kia Soul).
