Mildred Gagliardi Slomcinsky, 92, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Stanley Slomcinsky Sr., died peacefully on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 23, 1926 in East Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Daniel Gagliardi and Anna (Rago) Nadler. Mildred grew up in Hartford. She was a resident of South Windsor for over 61 years. Mildred worked for the South Windsor Bank & Trust, Glastonbury Bank & Trust, the Town of East Windsor and the South Windsor Public School over the years. Mickey's (Granny) family was most important to her and she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and UCONN Women's basketball fan. She also enjoyed spending time at the Rockville and South Windsor Senior Center. She leaves her daughter, Janet J. Armata and her husband Todge of South Windsor; her son, Donald P. Slomcinsky and his wife Terry of San Tan Valley, AZ; her brother, Robert Nadler and his wife Sheryl of Scarborough, ME; her sister, Marian Kamarowski of Glastonbury; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Slomcinsky of Manchester. She was predeceased by her sons, Stanley Slomcinsky Jr., and his wife Cynthia, and Ronald Slomcinsky. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, from 4-7 p.m., at the Ladd Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd.,(Rt. 83) Vernon. Family and friends may gather on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor.
