New London Police: Man Seriously Injured In 'Slashing-Type' Assault

A man suffered serious injuries after a "slashing-type assault" in New London, police said

A 50-year-old man suffered serious injuries after a "slashing-type assault" on Prest Street Saturday morning, police said.

At about 6:30 a.m., officers dispatched to Prest Street and Connecticut Avenue for a report of a serious assault found Guy Bryant, of Norwich, suffering from several deep wounds to the arm and head, as well as trauma to his lower legs, police said.

Bryant was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

A Waterford police dog assisted with the investigation, which remains open, police said.
