Police are asking for help identifying a man said to have brandished a gun and demanded money from a Sunoco gas station clerk Sunday afternoon.

Police said the man entered the Sunoco gas station at the corner of Farmington Avenue and Prospect Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday and slid the clerk a note demanding money. He implied that he had a gun and later showed the clerk the gun, police said.

The suspect fled on foot east toward Hartford with money stolen from the gas station. Police would not say how much money was stolen from the gas station, citing that the investigation is ongoing.

Police described the man is a bald, “light skinned black male” in his late 40’s/ early 50’s with a “salt and pepper” beard. At the time, police said he was wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
