Police Release Name Of Man Who Survived Hartford Ambush-Style Shooting

Police have released the name of a 35-year-old man who survived an ambush-style shooting in Hartford last week.

Gerard Rogers was shot multiple times in the torso on Keney Terrace, near Keney Park, on Jan. 31, Deputy Chief Brian Foley said Friday.

According to police, the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alerted officers to at least 20 shots in the neighborhood about 1:20 a.m. that day. First responders found the man in a car, and he was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center to be treated for multiple gunshot wounds.

The man appeared to have been hit by gunfire coming from two directions, Foley said. Officers found two different types of bullets at the scene.

Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to call police at 860-757-4000.
