Man Shot In Groin Area In Hartford Friday, Police Say

A man showed up in a city hospital after being shot in the groin on Friday, but police aren’t sure where in the city the shooting happened, police said.

The ShotSpotter gunshot detection system reported gunfire about 10:45 a.m. Friday morning, but officers couldn’t find evidence of a shooting, said Hartford Deputy Chief Brian Foley.

For reasons that aren’t clear, the man, 26, was dropped off at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Doctors were afraid to move him to Hartford Hospital because of the nature of the injuries, he said.

He was in the intensive care unit, Foley said.
