Hartford Line trains between Hartford and Springfield will be replaced by buses this weekend as the Department of Transportation finishes laying double-track between Hartford and Windsor.
Bus service will last from 10:30 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. Amtrak’s regional through service will be bused between Springfield and New Haven and operated by train between New Haven and Washington.
Amtrak’s Vermonter passengers will also be transported by bus between New Haven and Vermont from Saturday through Tuesday to accommodate rail bridge rehabilitation work being done in Massachusetts, according to the state.
Train service will resume with a new temporary schedule, which will last through Sept. 30, to accommodate continued track work, according to the state Department of Transportation. Some times will be shifted up to about half an hour, while most are unchanged.
During the modified schedule, all Amtrak Hartford Line trains will also stop at New Haven’s State Street station, rather than stopping only at Union Station.
CTrail trains already stop at both New Haven stations.
