The Vans Warped Tour returned to the grounds of the Xfinity Theater on July 10 for its annual punk rock summer camp with seven stages hosting more than 70 bands both regionally and nationally known.

‘Tweens, teens and adults came out from all across Connecticut and beyond for the one-day music festival to rock out to artists new and old like New Found Glory, Sum 41, Sleeping with Sirens, The Story So Far, The Maine and many others.

Connecticut natives Forget Tomorrow, no strangers to the Warped Tour stage, returned with a vengeance to open up the day’s festivities. Drawing a fairly sizable crowd given its early set time, the four-piece post-hardcore band offered one of its most dynamic live performances since losing guitarist Dustin Paolino in a tragic car accident in February.

One of the must see bands on the lineup this was Yellowcard after it announced last month that members would be breaking up at the end of the current world tour. Yellowcard’s self-titled 10th studio album, expected to be released on Sept. 30, will be its last.

Frontman Ryan Key said that the band’s final set for Warped Tour would be a celebration, and they played old hits such as “Only One,” “Ocean Avenue” and “Lights and Sounds.”
