Walk the Moon had a huge, phrase-coining hit with “Shut Up and Dance,” a song that is basically an anthem about letting go of inhibitions, self-consciousness and spoken language in favor of dance, movement and music. Feeling versus thinking, in a way. It was a ubiquitous, unavoidable hit two years ago or so.

The madness may have subsided but this Ohio band is still being propelled by the song’s success and it’s probably now facing the challenge of how to outdo or even compete with the smash success of “Shut Up and Dance.” Technically, the band is promoting its recent record, “What If Nothing,” which came out last fall and opens with the song “Press Restart,” a perfect sentiment for the beginning of 2018, but also perfect for a band that took some time off after its big success to regroup and figure out where to head next.

Walk the Moon performs at Mohegan Sun Arena, 1 Mohegan Sun Blvd., Uncasville, on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and $35. 860-226-7711 and mohegansun.com.
