Every month, Parkade Cinemas, a second-run theater in Manchester, holds a “Dinner and a Movie” event. This month’s event is Saturday, May 7, and the film is “Tropic Thunder.”
The 2008 comedy, directed by and starring Ben Stiller, tells the story of actors making a war movie who encounter a drug ring and must become real soldiers to save their kidnapped friend.
The event begins at 7 p.m. with a catered two-course dinner with nonalcoholic beverages from Anna’s in East Hartford, followed by the movie, then followed by dessert. Capacity in the theater with tables is 100. Admission is $30.
Those who join the Parkade Cinemas’ Facebook group can vote on titles for future events. The next one is on June 11. Parkade Cinemas is at 416 Middle Turnpike West. Reservations are required. Make reservations at parkadecinemas.com.
