The Masterpiece Theater hit “Sherlock” will return on Jan. 1 on PBS with the episode “The Abominable Bride.” But fans who would rather see the two-hour “The Abominable Bride” on the big screen can see it in cinemas on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 5 and 6.

The theater presentation will include a “making of” featurette and a documentary that tours the 221B Baker Street set hosted by co-writer Steven Moffat.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman star in this episode, which is set in London in 1895. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. each day. In Connecticut, it will be shown at AMC Danbury 16, Carmike Lisbon 12, Cinemark Buckland Hills in Manchester, Metro Movies 12 in Middletown, Connecticut Post 14 in Milford, Cinemark North Haven, Cinemark Enfield, Regal Brass Mill 12 in Waterbury, Branford 12 and AMC Plainville.
