This year is the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare. On Monday, May 23, in honor of the date, theaters nationwide, including seven in Connecticut, will present “The Shakespeare Show: Recorded Live from the Royal Shakespeare Company.”

Helen Mirren, Benedict Cumberbatch, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Joseph Fiennes, John Lithgow and David Suchet and other actors will present this tribute to the Bard and his ongoing legacy on music, dance, opera, musical theater and comedy.

The show, hosted by David Tennant, was recorded in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 22, the eve of the anniversary.
