Wadsworth Atheneum’s mouth-watering series “Food & Film,” which pairs food-related movies with themed meals in the museum’s café, continues with a movie and food from Cuba.
“Cuban Food Stories” tells the story of Asori Soto, who lived in the United States and then returned to his homeland to re-discover the flavors of his childhood: coconuts, cocoa beans, clams, crabs, shrimp, coffee, roasted pig, smoked meats. In the process, Soto muses on the disappearance of distinctive national cuisines.
The movie will be shown Nov. 17 at 4:30 p.m. Dinner will follow at 6:15 p.m. and will include mojitos, shrimp with jicama slaw, a salad, Cuban roast pork with polenta and pineapple ceviche with guava mousse. A vegan option is available. Admission both the film and meal is $65, $60 members. Admission to just the movie is $10, $9 seniors and students, $7 members. thewadsworth.org.
