Real Art Ways kicks off its annual “Film 101” series of classic films, accompanied by lectures by J.D. Connor, assistant professor of history of art and film and media studies at Yale University.

The theme this year is “Behind the Scenes.” Movies, which begin Thursday, March 10, will be shown at 11:30 a.m. on Thursdays. Admission can be bought separately for each film or as a package. Admission is $11, $7 seniors and students, $5 members, $4.50 senior and student members. .

Here’s the lineup:

March 10: “Bombshell,” a 1933 comedy starring Jean Harlow as a movie star who wants to get away from show business, but whose plans always go haywire.

March 24: “A Face in the Crowd,” the 1957 Elia Kazan drama starring Patricia Neal and Andy Griffith about a hayseed who becomes an overnight sensation, whose personality changes as he becomes famous.

April 7: “Day for Night,” the 1973 Francois Truffaut story of a film director beset by problems as he tries to finish his movie. It stars Truffaut himself, as well as Jacqueline Bisset. It is in French with subtitles, and English.

April 14: “The Truman Show,” the 1998 Peter Weir comic drama about a man who is the only person in the world who doesn’t realize his whole life is a reality TV show. It stars Jim Carrey, Laura Linney and Ed Harris.

April 28: “Close Up,” the 1990 Abbas Kiarostami documentary-drama hybrid that recreates an incident in Iran in which a con man wormed his way into a family home by pretending to be the great filmmaker Mohsen Makhmalbaf. It is in Persian and Azerbaijani with subtitles. Details: realartways.org.
