Melanie Savage

Writer

Melanie Savage started as a freelancer with the ReminderNews in 2007, and became a staff reporter shortly thereafter. Melanie holds an M.A. in English from UConn, and also works as a public housing administrator. Melanie enjoys getting to meet some of the more interesting and inspirational people within the communities she serves.

While writing was originally what drew her to the paper, Melanie has found that she very much enjoys photography, as well. She has worked to develop her photography skills while shooting for the Reminder.

Melanie is mom to two children and a house full of pets. She enjoys reading, gardening, kayaking, hiking and spending time with family. She spends a lot of time reading local, state and national news, and believes in getting involved with important environmental, social and political issues. Melanie currently covers the towns of Hebron, Andover, Lebanon, Franklin, Columbia, Mansfield, Windham, Chaplin, Scotland and Hampton.
