It’s officially time to come out of winter hibernation. Get outside and enjoy a side of fresh air with your food at these upcoming spring food truck festivals.
Celebrate Meriden’s 37th annual Daffodil Festival a week early on Saturday, April 18 and 19, at its pre-festival weekend in Hubbard Park, featuring the state’s largest tag sale and two days of food truck dining. Scheduled trucks include The Fire Pizza Company, Pierogies on Wheels, Dee’s Flavors, Frankie’s Hotdogs and Catering, Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes, Ben & Jerry’s, 744 Express, Get Your “Irish” On and more. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Information: daffodilfest.com.
Food trucks will also join the 2015 Made in Connecticut Expo at the Durham Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19, with The Spud Stud, Cannoli Truck, Shoreline Prime Meats & Deli, Christiano’s Pizzeria, Aurora’s Gypsy Café, Rough House Food Truck and Taco Loco Food Truck among the scheduled attendees. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
