Hardcore Sweet Opens Shop In Manchester Mall

Attention, Manchester shoppers: @hardcoresweetCT now open at Buckland Hills mall

Holiday shoppers in need of a sugar rush now have a new stop at The Shoppes at Buckland Hills. Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes opened its anticipated storefront in the mall Nov. 13, serving the confections its owners call "classy to crazy."

Co-owner Nicole Braddock described the Manchester store as a scaled-down version of the Watertown bakery, with 16 everyday flavors, a few seasonal and special selections and vegan and gluten-free offerings. The menu features some of Hardcore Sweet's greatest hits and customer favorites, like ODB (Overdose Brownie), Coffee and Donuts, Cookie Dough, Holy Cannoli, Hot Cocoa and Bananas Foster. Customers can special-order other flavors to be brought to the Manchester location, she said.

Braddock and her husband, Jeremy, who toured the world as the guitarist in the hardcore band 100 Demons, started the cupcake business as a food truck three years ago. Since then, they've appeared on (and won) Food Network's "Cupcake Wars," opened a brick and mortar bakery in the Oakville section of Watertown, and expanded their mobility at events with a "caboose" trailer.

Hardcore Sweet, on the mall's second floor, is open during the Shoppes at Buckland Hills' operating hours: Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hours will be extended during the holidays. 860-644-2666, hardcoresweetcupcakes.com.
