Who builds a better Bloody Mary: Connecticut or California? An upcoming event pits East against West in the form of tomato-and-vodka cocktails.
Waypoint Spirits plays host to the Dec. 6 brunch, which features Bloody Marys made with its Labrador Noon vodka and RIPE bar juice. The West Coast entry will be made with Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits' Fugu vodka and mixer.
NoRA Cupcake Company and Mercado provide food pairings, and the event will also feature a Bloody Mary competition featuring top Connecticut mixologists.
The event begins at noon. Tickets are $25: click here to buy. Proceeds will benefit Kenway's Cause, an organization that raises funds in order to provide medical care to injured animals picked up by City of Hartford Animal Control.
Waypoint Spirits is at 410 Woodland Ave. in Bloomfield. 860-858-1446, drinkwaypoint.com.
