b.good, a Boston-based fast food chain featuring a healthier focus on burgers, sandwiches and salads, will open its second Connecticut location in Canton at The Shoppes at Farmington Valley Aug. 6. The grand opening, beginning at 11 a.m., features smoothie samples, games and music.
b. good's menu, described as "real.food.fast," first opened in 2003 after friends Anthony Ackil and Jon Olinto decided to create a restaurant with healthier quick-service options: natural meats, oven-baked fries, vegetable sides, kale and grain bowls and smoothies.
The chain has expanded to nearly two dozen locations in New England, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and North Carolina; the first Connecticut store opened in Glastonbury's Somerset Square in 2013. Two more state outposts are planned in Fairfield and Greenwich, according to the b.good website.
The Canton store is at 110 Albany Turnpike. 860-352-2629, bgood.com.
