b Restaurants Host 'Tour d'Pappy' Bourbon Series

Your Pappy hunt ends at b Restaurants (Plan B Burger Bar), which recently announced a series of special events spotlighting the super-elusive bourbon.

The "Tour de Pappy" series at the restaurant group's locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. features seven Pappy van Winkle tasting opportunities and dinners from January to August. 

The first event, a “Public Pappy Hour” is at b West Hartford on Jan. 29 at 3 p.m., with a la carte tastes of Pappy 10, 12, 15, 20 and 23-year  (priced at $10 to $49 for one-ounce servings) on a first-come, first-service basis. Complimentary bar snacks will be available, along with appetizer specials.

b Simsbury hosts a "Password to Pappy" Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m., with tastes of 10, 12, 15 and 20-year paired with four appetizer courses. Cost is $125. 

b Stamford's "Surf and Turf Pappy" event on March 15 at 7 p.m. features tastings of 10, 12, 15 and 23-year Pappy with four appetizer stations. Cost is $125.

b Glastonbury's "Sweet Home Pappy" four-course seated appetizer dinner on Apr. 26 at 6:30 p.m. includes tastings of 12, 15, 20 and 23-year. Cost is $125.

"Pappy Goes to Washington" at b restaurants' DC Penn Quarter restaurant May 17 at 7 p.m., with tasting pours of 10, 12, 15 and 20-year paired with appetizers from four stations. Cost is $125.

"Pappy on the Patio" at b Springfield on June 7 at 6 p.m. features pours of 12, 15, 20, 23-year and 13-year Rye, with passed hors d'oeuvres and a five-course seated dinner. Cost is $175.

The series wraps at b Fairfield Aug. 1 at 7 p.m., with tastings of 12, 15, 20 and 23-year with a four-course seated dinner. Cost is $150.

A "Passport to Pappy" gets you tickets for events 2 to 7 (excluding the b West Hartford event) for $700. The company is also giving away a trip for two to the Pappy event held on May 17 in Washington, D.C., including airfare, hotel and incidentals, an $1,100 value.
