Groton's Outer Light Brewing Company, which opened softly in early April, hosts a grand opening of its brewery and tap room Saturday, May 30, from noon to 5 p.m.
The event features a ribbon cutting with the mayor of Groton and local and state officials. Seven beers on tap include SUBduction IPA, Lonesome Boatman Ale, Libation Propaganda Coffee Stout, Royal Sea Saison, Swell East Coast Lager, The Academy German Pale Ale and two new brews: Admiral Lublin's Imperial Pilsner and Outerweiss Hefeweizen, said co-founder Matt Ferrucci in an email.
"We are so excited to be a part of local community and to join the burgeoning Connecticut brewing scene," said co-founder Tom Drejer in a press release. "Since our soft launch in early April, we have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from beer fans near and far." Drejer and Ferrucci are joined by head brewer Tyler Cox, who brings commercial brewing experience from North Carolina.
