Attention aspiring young scientists (and their parents!)
Consider entering the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge! Students in grades 5-8 all across the U.S. are eligible. To enter, they need to create a video between one and two minutes long describing a new, innovative solution that could solve an everyday problem. It could affect them, their family or community. Students must submit their videos as a YouTube link by April 20th. Ten finalists will be notified by early June. The grand prize winner receives $25,000!
Discovery created the competition back in 1999 to spark an interest in science. Since then, some of the winners have been invited to speak to Congress or work with the nations top scientists!
Students must have their parent sign a consent form before entering.
