It's one of those age-old debates: to caffeinate or not when you're pregnant.
I'm a coffee drinker. I've had a cup most mornings since I was in my mid-twenties. I enjoy it and have no intention of stopping.
However, back when I found out I was pregnant the first time, I wondered if my daily habit could continue. My OB assured me the one cup was fine and encouraged me not to increase consumption while I was pregnant. I had lost a taste for it in my first trimester anyway, but eventually craved it again later in the pregnancy. The second time around, there was no question in my mind I would need that coffee. At the time, I was working early mornings and trying to keep up with a toddler. It was a part of my daily routine. I know and respect moms on both sides of the coffee debate. But, for the women who think they can't have any, you'll be happy to read this new research suggesting a cup is safe. However, be sure to check with your doctor first!
