The 7th Annual Parenting Conference at The Mandell Jewish Community Center in West Hartford is taking place tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4th.
“This year’s Parenting Conference features pediatrician and child development expert, Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg," explains event director Jane Pasternak. "His unique philosophy is to aid parents in raising their children to thrive and meet life’s challenges head on, and to bring out the best in themselves."
During two keynote addresses, one held in the morning, the other in the afternoon, Ginsburg will share his "7 Crucial Cs - competence, confidence, connection, character, contribution, coping and control." This concept helps teens and children build resilience.
"He believes that this is accomplished by fostering in them a love of learning, and a desire to strive for their own personal goals for their own fulfilment, and not for the fulfillment of others. By doing so, we enable our children to grow into well-adjusted teenagers and adults," says Pasternak.
Ginsburg, a doctor at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, will also take part in a free, inspirational workshop for 7th and 8th graders in the afternoon.
