Cutting the Cord

When the school nurse called home to say that you had puked all over the classroom floor, she might not have reached your mom on the first try. You might have had to actually wait a few hours until someone was reached, likely without the aid of voicemail, depending on your age.

Today, if we don’t respond to a message immediately because we failed to bring our cell phones into the shower or yoga class or an important meeting, we feel awful for being unavailable.
