Did you set your alarm, flier in hand, get in line and join the Black Friday crowds? Or maybe you hit up the outlets on your way home from Thanksgiving?
I've gotta say, the idea has never appealed to me, not because I don't like a good deal, I'm just not willing to sacrifice my sleep and my sanity to save a few bucks. More power to you if you got out, finished all your holiday shopping and didn't mind some of the rude shoppers pushing you aside for the last "Elsa" doll or HD-TV. I'm not much of a shopper, so I just don't get it. I'm also not a fan of packed stores, so I've never been tempted. I spent the day with my family, making snow angels and eating leftovers. I'm not going to say I've never shopped at a big box store for the sheer convenience, BUT, I try to shop local when I can. That's why I love this article ahead of Small Business Saturday, which is tomorrow. No alarms, no lines, just supporting your community while crossing a few gifts off your list.
