Adjusting to Preschool

Week one: Smiles and no tears.

Week two: 1 sick day and intermittent tears.

Anyone elses child having trouble adjusting to preschool?  New faces, new routines, throw the holiday weekend in along with a sick day and you've got one confused little girl.  I don't blame my daughter for the tears, it must be very confusing right now.  She's among the youngest in her class but is very outgoing and friendly and smart so my husband and I feel she's ready.  But, it's tough when my husband drops her off and she cries and I hear her crying when I pick her up.  It makes me want to hug and kiss her and tell her, "it's ok you don't have to go back."  However, we're not wavering at this point because we know it takes time.  We've talked to her teachers and so far she "gets over it pretty quickly."   We want to do the best for our daughter, and sometimes the best thing is the hardest.  I found this article to be helpful.  It includes 6 things preschool teachers won't actually say to parents, but probably want to, including the last one, "Will you please leave?"
