Rockin’ The Greenhouse

A ‘Baskerville’ Romp
Ken Ludwig is well represented on Connecticut stages this month. His new comic adaptation of the Agatha Christie mystery “Murder on the Orient Express” is currently at Hartford Stage. “Baskerville,” Ludwig’s wild distillation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Hound of the Baskervilles,” is at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven Feb. 28 through March 25. While “Orient Express” has a large, diverse cast, “Baskerville” uses five actors to play Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson and all the dozens of other characters in the story. Alex Moggridge, previously seen in Long Wharf productions of “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “Clybourne Park,” as well as in “Three Sisters” at the Yale Rep, plays Holmes.
“Baskerville” romps Feb. 28 through March 25 at the Long Wharf Theatre, 222 Sargent Dr., New Haven. Performances are Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., Thursday through Saturday at 3 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., with added performances May 4 and 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35.50-$91.50. 203-787-4282 and longwharf.org.
A ‘Breath Of Spring’
The 37th annual Connecticut Flower & Garden Show comes to the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford Feb. 22 to 25. Hours are Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show features the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut’s 2018 Advanced Standard Flower Show; and more than 300 booths of shopping for the home. $18 adults; $16 seniors age 62 and over on Thursday/Friday only; $5 ages 5 to 12; and free under age 5.
