Broadway legend Elaine Stritch delighted the Chicago International Film Festival audience of the new documentary, “Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me,” at AMC River East on Sunday afternoon by participating in a brief question and answer session after the credits rolled. Sporting a white hat and coat, a signature Stritch look, the celebrated actress spoke with CIFF founder Michael Kutza from the front row of the theater, from where she also watched the film.

Public appearances have been less frequent for Stritch, 88, since the Tony Award nominee (“Company,” “A Delicate Balance”) and Emmy Award winner (“30 Rock,” “Elaine Stritch: At Liberty”) relocated from New York City to Birmingham, Michigan last spring.

The Chicago Tribune filmed this video of her post-show talk.
