Ice dancer Meryl Davis captured the glittering mirror-ball trophy Tuesday night on “Dancing With the Stars” after a season of wowing the judges with her sharp moves perfected as an Olympian who took gold at the Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

Paralympic snowboarder Amy Purdy, who danced on prosthetic legs, came in second. Former “Full House” child star Candace Cameron Bure, whose professional partner injured his shoulder in the last week, finished third in the hyper, stuffed two-hour finale.

Purdy, whose legs were amputated below the knees after contracting bacterial meningitis as a teen, used several different types of prosthetics during the competition, including running blades.

The trophy is a long time coming for Davis’ professional partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, a smoldering presence on the dance floor and fan favorite who hadn’t taken home the big win until this season. He looked stunned by the win and said it was worth the wait.

Hordes of Twitter followers were gleeful about the results and demanded that Meryl and Maks get married immediately.

Davis’ partner on the ice, Charlie White, also was a contestant on this season of “DWTS,” giving the show a heavy dose of athletic prowess.

The finale also brought back those stars who were kicked out early in the season, including long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad, actor Billy Dee Williams and comedian Drew Carey, for one last swing around the dance floor
