1. TO ENTER: No Purchase Necessary. Entrants must be a US citizen and residing in Connecticut, age 14 or older at the time of entry. To enter, log onto from Monday, June 21, 2010 through Friday, December 10, 2010. Complete all required fields in the entry form (including your name, address, e-mail, phone and the name of the person or organization, their address, e-mail, and phone number) and complete an essay that in 150 words or less explains why you think a person or an organization deserves special consideration". ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON, EMAIL ADDRESS OR HOUSEHOLD, PER MONTH WILL BE ACCEPTED. Duplicate entries from the same person, email address or household will be disqualified.

2. DEADLINE: Entries for that particular month's judging and prize must be received by 11:59 pm EST the last Sunday of each month during the Contest Month excluding December, which shall be due on 11:59 pm EST, Friday, December 10 (i.e. Sunday, June 27; Sunday, July 25; Sunday, August 29; Sunday, September 26; Sunday, October 31; Sunday, November 28; and Sunday, December 10). Entrants must use their own name. If any dispute arises concerning the identity of an entrant, the owner of the email account from which the entry was sent shall be deemed the entrant. Sponsors are not responsible for lost, incomplete, damaged, illegible, late, or misdirected entries, or for errors in mechanical transmission, technical difficulties or inability to transmit Internet entries.

3. SELECTION OF WINNERS: Each month, on or about the following Monday after the deadline date, all eligible entries will have the submitted essays be judged by a panel of judges comprised of Contest Sponsor representatives based on the essay's creativity, enthusiasm and description of the organization/person in question. Winner will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail within one (1) day of the drawing. If a selected Winner is ineligible, if Sponsor is unable to make contact with a selected Winner after reasonable effort and time (48 hours from time of initial call to Winner), or if a Winner is unavailable on the day and time requested by Sponsors, the prize shall be forfeited and may be awarded to another eligible entrant in Sponsors' sole discretion. Once a Winner is named, he/she is ineligible to be a future winner in any further portion of this Contest. In addition, all entries for that particular month will be disqualified. All previous non-winning entrants shall be able to again enter the Contest for the next particular month of the Contest Period.

4. AWARDING & DELIVERY OF PRIZES: One (1) person (entrant that submitted the entry form) each month (for a total of 7 winners) will receive a $300 cash prize (gift) that he/she can "Pay Forward" to the person or organization that they nominated. Each winner may be featured on the FOX Connecticut Morning News in a live-to-tape video production. Total value of each gift is $300. Sponsors will notify the winners in advance of the dates and times to be available for such on-air interviews. Dates may be changed at Sponsors' sole discretion. Prizes are non-transferable, non-negotiable and not redeemable for cash, credit or merchandise. If the Contest is cancelled prior to the expected December 2010 end date, no substitute prizes will be available except at Sponsors' sole discretion. All decisions regarding interpretation of these Official Rules and administration of the Contest made by the Sponsors' are final and binding. Federal, state, and local taxes, if any, as well as any additional expenses not set forth herein, shall be the sole responsibility of each winner.

5. ELIGIBILITY: Winners may be required to provide proof of age, identity, and residency. Employees of media outlets or of the Hartford Courant, WTXX-TV, WTIC-TV, Tribune Television Company, their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising agencies, and their respective immediate family and household members are not eligible to win. This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

6. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: By entering, you represent that the entry materials, including without limitation, the essay; (i) consists of your original writing produced for the Contest; (ii) do not/will not violate or infringe any intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyright, trademark/trade name, or contract rights, or any other proprietary rights of any person or entity; (iii) do not contain obscene, profane or pornographic material, do not contain defamatory or libelous statements (including without limitation words that are considered offensive to individuals of a certain race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic group), do not invade the privacy or any other rights of any person, firm, or entity; and (iv) in no other way violate any applicable laws, regulations, or television broadcast network standards as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. Any entry materials that do not comply with these Rules shall be disqualified. By entering, each entrant grants permission, without further compensation, to Sponsors, and their agents and licensees, to use the entrant's name, voice, photograph, likeness and biographical material, including name, state, and city of residence and essays for promotional purposes in any media, in connection with the Contest. Each winner will grant to Sponsors an unlimited, non-exclusive, fully-paid royalty free right and license (but not obligation) to publish, exhibit distribute and/or otherwise make available the essay provided by entrant, in any medium By entering, each entrant agrees that if selected as a Winner, he/she shall, and anyone associated with the on-air portion of this Contest, be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility or Publicity of Release and failure to execute may result in disqualification. The prize may be forfeited and awarded to another entrant if a Winner does not execute the prepared form of release and waiver within the stated timeframe of the Contest, or if a selected Winner is not eligible in accordance with these rules. By entering, entrants agree to release Sponsors' from any claim, loss, liability, damage or injury of any kind arising from their participation in the Contest of their receipt or use of the Contest prize. This Contest shall be governed and enforced pursuant to Connecticut law, excluding choice of law provisions.

7. INTERNET: If for any reason, the Internet-related portion of this Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, tampering, fraud, technical failure, or any other cause which corrupts or threatens the administration, security or integrity of the Contest, Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to terminate or suspend the Contest or any portion of the Contest. ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE FAIR AND LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE CONTEST.
