NFL Network's Sanders offers high praise of Flacco, Lewis

Sunday’s 23-20 loss to the New England Patriots in Sunday’s AFC championship game cost the Ravens a trip to Super Bowl XLVI, but a pair of individual performances earned some praise from NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders.

The former cornerback who played for the Ravens, Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers was very complimentary of quarterback Joe Flacco’s showing, which included 306 passing yards and two touchdowns.

“Joe Flacco really outplayed [New England’s] Tom Brady,” Sanders said during the network’s “NFL GameDay Final.” “Hats off to Joe Flacco. He proved that he should be paid and he can take this team to the next level.”

Sanders also applauded the ability of inside linebacker Ray Lewis to remain a force in his 16th year in the league.

“His knowledge of the game keeps him around,” Sanders said. “That’s why he’s been able to play at a certain level for 16 years. When he stops playing at this level, that’s when I’ll start telling you it’s time for him to leave. Definitely not [that time yet].”
