Mohegan Throwing 20th Anniversary Party With A-List Entertainers

Mohegan Sun Casino still isn't old enough to drink, but that won't stop it from celebrating its 20th anniversary with a monthlong bevy of entertainment options.

A few stats: in 20 years, the Uncasville casino has attracted more than 9 million annual visitors, brought in more than $20 billion in total net revenue and staged nearly 9,000 concerts — artists like Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears and Jay-Z.

The official 20th anniversary celebration takes place on the weekend of Oct. 14 to 16, beginning with a Comedy All-Star Gala in the Arena (Friday, 8 p.m., $90 to $110), hosted by Kevin Hart and featuring Sarah Silverman, Dave Attell and Margaret Cho.

But really, Mohegan has been partying all month; country singer Tim McGraw and pop superstar Bruno Mars performed earlier in October, and the casino also welcomed the sudsy Sun Brewfest. Here's what you can expect this weekend (and beyond).

Arena rock: The weekend starts early with metal mainstay Megadeth (Thursday, Oct.13, 6 p.m., $35), along with heavy friends Amon Amarth, Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church and Butcher Babies. Fergie's only East Coast show this year takes place in the Arena (Saturday, Oct. 15 8 p.m., $69-$89), with a Southern-rock chaser by Lynyrd Skynyrd (Sunday, Oct. 16 7:30 p.m., $20).

Smaller shows: Country singer Jessie James Decker performs in the Cabaret Theatre (Friday, Oct. 14, 8 p.m., $40). R&B/doo-wop pioneers Little Anthony and the Imperials (Friday, Oct. 14 8 p.m.) play a free show in the Wolf Den, followed by LL Cool J and DJ/producer Z-Trip (Saturday, Oct. 15 8 p.m., free).

Celebrities: Q&A sessions in the Shops Concourse include "Bachelorette" star JoJo Fletcher (Friday, Oct. 14 7 p.m.) and "Vikings" star Clive Standen (Saturday, Oct. 15 7 p.m.). Head to the Cabaret Theatre to chat with "Real Housewives" Vicki Gunvalson, Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga and Ramona Singer (Sunday, 12 p.m., $35).

After parties: DJ Ruckus hosts the Kevin Hart After Party at Avalon (Friday, Oct. 14, 9 p.m.). Hang with LL, Chrissy Teigen, Robin Thicke, Brody Jenner, model Tyson Beckford and the aforementioned Housewives at the Ballroom Red Carpet After Party in the Convention Center and Uncas Ballroom (Saturday, 10 p.m., $50). Timbaland DJs; JAYCEEOH and DJ Cassidy perform.

Comedy: edgy comic Bert Kreischer does four shows at the Comix Comedy Club (Oct. 13 to 15, $20-$50). Dane Cook holds court in the Arena later in the month (Oct. 21, 8 p.m., $45-$65), alongside Comix appearances by stand-up vets Lenny Clarke (Oct. 20-22, $25-$60) and Tom Arnold (Oct. 27 to 29, $20-$50).

October in the Arena: Going forward, hear country stars Sam Hunt (Oct. 22, 8 p.m., $79-$99) and Carrie Underwood (Oct. 28, 7 p.m., $51-$81); horn friends Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire (Oct. 23, 7:30 p.m., $60-$80); enigmatic popster Sia (Oct. 26, 7 p.m., $75-$95) with Miguel and AlunaGeorge; breezy hitmakers Air Supply (Oct. 27, 7:30 p.m., $20); costumed rockers KISS (Oct. 29, 8 p.m., $75-$95); and 12-piece Southern soul outfit Tedeschi Trucks Band (Oct. 30, 7:30 p.m., $35).
