Just as news arrives that the “tampon scene” from the novel “Fifty Shades of Grey” is apparently not part of the impending film version of the provocative bestseller, the nationally touring mockery of the book, “50 Shades! The Musical Parody” returns to Connecticut.

The show, which uses tunes and bawdy gags to send up E.L. James’ whole lurid (and extremely popular) “Fifty Shades” trilogy, will be at the Palace Theater (100 East Main St., Waterbury, 203-346-2000, palacetheaterct.org) on Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m.; then at the Garde Arts Center (325 State St., New London; 860-444-7373, gardearts.org) on Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. The show’s own website is at 50shadesthemusical.com.
