This Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter and clothing fashion designer took chances to get where she is today.
She was diagnosed with dyslexia in school and had great difficulty learning. To earn money during her senior year of high school, she worked at a Dairy Queen restaurant in Orange County, California scrubbing floors.
It was her brother who got her involved in music.
Later in life, the sewing lessons she learned from her mother helped her create most of the clothing that she wore on stage while singing with the band No Doubt. That talent also helped her launch a fashion line named L.A.M.B. in 2004.
