Moviegoers will be getting a little more "Sex" next year.
Warner Bros. and New Line have set a release date for " Sex and the City 2." The movie, a sequel to last summer's smash, will debut on May 28, 2010, according to several news reports.
That will be two years and two days after the first "Sex and the City" debuted in theaters and became a huge hit. It made more $152 million at the American box office and another $260 million internationally.
All four stars of the HBO series that spawned the film -- Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon -- are committed to the sequel. Writer-director Michael Patrick King will also be back; he's currently at work on the film's script. There's no date set for the start of production.
"Sex and the City 2" is currently set to share the 2010 Memorial Day weekend with the video-game adaptation "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," potentially giving thousands of couples a way to go to the movies that weekend without arguing over what to see.Copyright © 2015, CT Now
