Fast National ratings for Tuesday, April 1, 2008
Dolly Parton and Gordon Ramsay made for a winning combination Tuesday night as FOX unveiled the new season of "Hell's Kitchen" and served up another ratings victory.
FOX averaged a 10.9 rating/17 share in primetime. ABC finished second at 7.2/11, followed closely by CBS at 6.7/10. NBC, 4.8/8, came in fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.1/2.
The adults 18-49 demographic also titled heavily toward FOX, which scored a 7.5 rating in the demo. CBS and NBC tied for second at 2.9, with ABC coming in at 2.6. The CW couldn't break the 1.0 barrier.
"American Idol," featuring Parton as a guest mentor, drew a 14.4/23 for FOX at 8 p.m. CBS' "NCIS" rerun took second with a 6.6/10. "The Biggest Loser" delivered a 4.6/7 for NBC, beating out ABC's "Just for Laughs" for third. "Beauty and The Geek" earned a 1.1/2 for The CW.
ABC moved into the overall lead at 9 p.m. with the "Dancing with the Stars" results show, 10.9/17. FOX, however, kept the 18-49 crown with the season premiere of "Hell's Kitchen," 7.5/11. "The Biggest Loser" improved to 5.8/9 in its second hour. "Big Brother: 'Til Death Do You Part," 4.1/6, was fourth for CBS, while The CW held steady with "Reaper."
At 10 p.m., the conclusion of a two-part "CSI: Miami" scored a 9.2/15 for CBS. The ABC News special "Live to Be 150" posted a 6.9/11, and a "Law & Order: SVU" repeat on NBC came in at 4.1/7.
