'Luck' doesn't have any

What we were expecting: A potentially great new HBO series What we got instead: A one-and-done series that ended under horrible circumstances. The drama centered at a racetrack had estimable talent both in front of and behind the camera: It starred Dustin Hoffman, Nick Nolte and Dennis Farina, among others, was created by David Milch ("Deadwood") and executive produced by Michael Mann. But after several horses involved in the production died, HBO rightly shut the series down, leaving fans to wonder what might have been. -- Rick Porter, Zap2it HBO
