The rainshadow is over us today. I mentioned the last few days that even though rain is in the forecast Seattle would see very little. This is the rainshadow off of the Olympics. When the flow of wind is from the west Seattle gets drier air than most. Sequim knows this well. They are mostly dry during the winter since the wind flow is from the SW. That mean that SW Olympics are wet and NE Olympics are dry as all the moisture is squeezed out on the SW side. This week the flow is from the west so Seattle gets a turn at being dry when everyone else is wet. Saturday and Sunday the flow is from the SW so Seattle get some rain then. Next week looks mostly dry with some sun again. Our winter break continues..... If you are a real geek then you might like Next Saturday's computer model run. SNOW??? for Feb. 12????????????
