Connecticut has endured what may be the three worst power outages in its history these past two years, with Sandy and Tropical Storm Irene and the October 2011 nor'easter. Sandy is the largest hurricane to hit the Northeast, according to Scientific American, and the third worst in terms of insurance losses, some experts say. Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said on Thursday that United Illuminating had more outages this time than during Irene, but CL&P had fewer than in Irene. Was Sandy worse, in your estimation, than Irene or the freakish pre-Halloween storm of 2011? Which storm felt harder to live through, for yourself and for the state?
